About
Originally born in England, Chris has been taking pictures since his early days as an awkward teenager in the wilds of Canada, discovering he had a real knack for capturing the light. It may be in his blood, as his grandfather established a portrait studio in Taunton, England, in the 1940’s which still exists to this day.
Chris is well known for his fashion & beauty photography- both editorial and commercial work- as well as his celebrity portraiture. His photographic style is celebrated for his sensitive use of light and colour.
Chris’s shoots have taken him around the world to many countries including Italy, England, France, China, Argentina, Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico, and he is currently focusing his time between Toronto, New York and Los Angeles.
He has photographed many of the world’s top models such as Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Jessica Stam, Daria Werbowy, Elsa Hosk, Isabeli Fontana, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Liu Wen, Jourdan Dunn, Soo Joo Park, Sasha Pivovarova, Shalom Harlow, Emily DiDonato, Claudia Schiffer, to name a few. His celebrity work includes Miley Cyrus, Lana del Rey, Lorde, Courtney Love, Clare Danes, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Michael Buble, Taylor Schilling, Aubrey Plaza, Christina Ricci, Elizabeth Olsen, Olivia Wilde, Elisha Cuthbert and many others.
Chris loves to be busy, and is known for being able to deliver stellar work in virtually any style of photography. He excels both in studio and on location and never shies away from large scale productions, including more recent forays into the world of video and commercials.
His work can be seen in many retail and beauty campaigns throughout Canada and the US, as well as on the covers & editorials of many magazines around the world including Elle Canada, Elle China, Elle Russia, Seventeen Magazine, Marie Claire, Fashion Magazine, Rolling Stone, EnRoute and many others.
Chris’s wife, Lorca Moore, worked with Chris for over twenty years as his retoucher and his final colour grading expert. Much of his award winning work was a result of this partnership of creativity, pushing the boundaries of editorial creativity. Lorca was an invaluable asset to the final results, but often uncredited by the magazines.
Chris and Lorca live together in a mid 1800’s stone house near Elora, Ontario. While Chris is still busy shooting, Lorca prefers gardening to retouching these days.
